PMac is BACK!

On Sep 1 the Padres recalled Paul McAnulty from Portland, however it was a day to late for PMac to be added to the playoff roster. I suspect that this will be the last Padres playoff roster that PMac will miss. He has hit every where he has been assigned from that first year winning the batting championship at Idaho Falls(rookie) hitting .379/.488/.604/.1092 and being touted by yours truly as a possible Padres most valuable prospect. He seemed to be forgotten after hitting only .273 in Ft Wayne but redeemed himself by hitting .297/.404/.521..925 with 23 hrs and 87 rbi at Lake Elsinore in 2004. All he has done this year is hit well enough at Mobile to recieve a callup to the Padres when they needed a left handed bat. When the numbers forced him to be sent down, it was to Portland and not Mobile. He responded by hitting .344/.405/.563/.968 with 6 homers(giving him 16 between Mobile and Portland).

Also receiving callups were lefty Craig Breslow and righty Chris Oxspring.

In other news, Wilson Valdez has cleared waivers and accepted assignment to Portland. The Padres are hoping their stupid move, waiving Paul Quantril, will not cause them to lose him. I should not be surprised to see Arizona claim him.
