Minors recaps 28 Aug 05

Hurricane Katrina has forced her way into everyone's lives and hopefully made sure that everyone is aware that baseball is just a game and there are many things that are more important in life. Here is hoping that all your friends and relatives in the path of the hurricane can come through without any serious injuries.

Now for the recaps for those of us that still have time to focus on baseball:

The Beavers pounded 4 Las Vegas pitchers for 17 hits and 11 runs in a 11-1 route. Chris Oxspring tossed 7 innings and allowed just 1 unearned run on 2 hits to improve to 12-6. Ben Johnson was the big stick tonight as he banged out 2 homers and drove in 7 runs. Paul McAnulty had 4 hits while Nick Trzesniak was 2 for 5 to drop his average to .406.

I went to the Ems game up in Salem Sunday night ... fun for the home team ... not fun for us wearing Ems caps ... Chase hit a few balls hard ... Venable is a big kid ... Richardson is not ... I didn't notice Killian got in the game ... all the "good Ems" are gone ... 'cept Chase, of course.

I was surprised to see that Seth Johnston has moved to 2b. How did he look there?
